Our next event: County Fair, September, 2010

The County Fair wouldn't be possible without the support of our wonderful volunteers!

The alcohol concession at the County Fair is our largest fundraiser for capital improvement projects at the Fairgrounds. We are looking for volunteers of 21 years of age or older to staff three sales locations on September 15 through 20. The concessions are a beer booth, a wine/margarita booth and a new beer & wine garden located alongside the floriculture building and food aisle.

As a volunteer during the County Fair:

You will work with one other person at one of the three locations during the day shift (noon to 5 pm), or team up with two other volunteers for the evening shift (5pm to 10pm).
You will greet patrons and represents the Heritage Foundation in a fun but courteous manor.
Fair security will assure all persons purchasing tickets are 21 years of age, and will issue a colored arm band to those wishing to purchase alcohol. A paid staff person, who will sit along side this security person, will sell alcohol tickets.
Persons wishing to purchase alcohol will present their tickets to you. You will be responsible for assuring purchaser is wearing the appropriate arm band for that day, and then take the appropriate ticket for that day. (Both arm bands and tickets change colors each day of the Fair.) If purchaser is wearing the appropriate arm band, you will serve the requested beverage. You may not serve any more than two alcoholic beverages to any one person.
If purchaser appears to be exceedingly intoxicated, you must refuse service. If you encounter problems, Fair security is available alongside of alcohol concession to handle any issue.
You will be expected to arrive for your shift 15 minutes prior to the beginning of the shift.
If you are unable to be on time for their shift, please call the person in charge of scheduling.
